Brian talks about the development of his signature Carvin B24 and B25 basses. This also features a performance clip of Brian paying tribute to Jimi Hendrix with his version of "Fire" played on both bass and (guitar) piccolo bass through a V3M guitar amp.

  • Have been looking for a new different sounding melody bass. I looked at the MTD's (very nice) and the Fodera's (Also very nice). But I can not justify paying $4000.00 to $10000.00 for a bass that doesn't sound any better than these basses. I also play a NYC Sadowsky for the sound it has. I currently am playing a Ken Smith BTG custom for melody set up for piccolo melody playing. Next bass will be one of these! I love the tone and the way these basses cut through the sound and mix.

  • @howard86385 I'd respect a guy who put so much thought on creating a new instrument even if he played the horn of some wild animal! He actually thought through all flaws and problems of the bass and tried to offer a solution in his way contrarily to artists who just ask for their name or band logo to be put on the headstock or 12th fret as their signature guitar ;-| Even though I play guitar, I'll recommend these to all bass players who can afford one..

  • nice basses and sounds! I m not bass player just a guitar and keyboard player but boy this wanna make me pick bass...

  • "you know"

  • The goal for my next instrument is that I can get "spiritual" with it. VERY interesting to see Brian's design expectations for his instruments. It all makes perfect sense!! I was thinking about one of the SB5000 models, but now, after seeing this video and Brian's perspective, I think I'm going to have to go with this. The proper balance between creativity and good design...

  • damn this may have to be my next bass. I very much dig his thought process behind this design. He's obviously passionate about it. Carvin in my mind= quality.

  • Brian Bromberg is an amazing guy, and Carvin is an amazing company. Since the Carvin B2 basses were shown at NAMM earlier this year, Brian has been in touch with the bassist community at the TalkBass forums asking what we'd like to see not only from the B2 basses, but from Carvin basses as a whole. I've already got a Carvin B40 bass, and I suspect my next may be a B24.

  • sounds like brian really designed an amazing bass, i love how he approached the electronics and the eq-ing and pickups, especially the master volume, ill own one someday

  • how much is one of those 5 strings?? I want one

Brian is an awesome player btw, i love his playing

  • Ingenious design. I clicked on the video just to hear what Brian had to say about his signature guitar and I thought all the ergonomic changes were great. Radial pickups! Duh! I wish I had thought of that. Beautiful guitars all around from the mind of a master.
