Instead of cutting the PO, expand it! Yes, Uncle Zippy should OWN all of the zip code dot COMS. Let's start with 10012 10013 11568 11976 11962 90210 94010 07620 93108 94027 oh and throw in 90809 DOT COM in there, LB is a City of Many Firsts. Then SELL an "at90809dotCom" address to the businesses there. See where I'm going with this? (I used to own 90809 dot com but registerfly went down;)

carrier here. no sat delivery? crazy! also, their insane "route adjustments" is costing them more in overtime. no one at my office can do their new (and muuch longer) route in 8 hrs. more like 10+. brilliant.

Clarification please? (8:52 min mark): Cummings : "$ 5.1 billion loss in 2007, $ 2.8 billion loss in 2008, $3.8 billion is 2009 and $8.5 billion in 2010." WHY THE INCREASE BETWEEN 2009 and 2010? Also at 1hr 09 mins: Cutting SATURDAY Delivery: SAT = most convenient day for the working class to sign for accountable mail & receive large packages. Instead, 2 days later, on Monday, customers would receive an attempt/Notice Left to Pick Up at a PO (further away!) by closing time. KaRi 90809

We have so many overlapping jobs, so many idle hands making no meaningful impact. We have thousands just crawling along waiting for a "payoff" in exchange for them to take their retirement. I agree the prefunding money is ours and paid to the fed unfairly. But I would be terrified to release it or refund any of it to us out of fear it will go right out the door. Contracts should be froze, and serious in house cleaning should be mandated. 25 yrs forced ot daily, ptfs time is restricted. Saving?

Bush in 2006 passed a law that required the Post Office to fund retirement and health cost for the future 75 years. UPS lobbied the Repubilcans heavily to get this passed. Since 2006 the Post Office has to pay 5.5 billion every year! Why would UPS want to destroy the Post Office? They can't compete with .44 cents delivery. They can't compete with $4.95 Priority mail delivery. They don't deliver to certain areas if no profit, UPS can discriminate delivery. Issa is wrong!

Did anyone see the commercial by AFL-CIO on the post office? It was this sappy thing that tried to tell us that the post office takes NO tax dollars.. it's ALL paid for with stamps.
Where do the billions of dollars in deficit come from then?

Most Americans can do without Saturday delievers. 95% of the stuff we get in the mail is JUNK non requested marketing. And the Union brags that no taxpayers dollars go to the Post Office? Then where do the $billions come from to keep the post office operating?

The work force is not the problem, the federal Gov't stealing from it to fill in part of their deficit is.
Stop the stealing, stop the problem. Like all problems the Gov't has caused yet claims they do not understand.

Postal savings. Thats where within the last thirty days inspectors apprehend one carrier for theft of mails, and two for misuse of gas cards. But just this past Saturday carriers had their end tours entered (includes their overtime) so that they could leave early, that being made possible by the supervisior that does not "count" mail for the routes and simply places volume to routes where desired. So those heros with short routes where taken care of while others made penalty.
