  • The air in that room is usually pretty warm since there is no cold air return in it. That's the room the furnace is in but when I have sun I shut off the furnace completely. It seems to work ok ,I have a small doorframe fan pushing air into the living room from the room with the solar heaters. I'm probably going to rig up a pipe coming from the cold air return in that room to see how well that works. I appreciate the suggestions Thanks

  • I already have a 12 volt battery bank set up for my wind turbines but they don't charge enough right now to keep the battery bank full . So I need to add a couple of solar panels for that. Then I'll go to DC fans. For now the condenser fan is more than enough CFM but a duct booster fan would probably use less electricity. I'll keep using AC fan for now. Might as well just run one fan if it's big enough instead of using electricity for 2.

  • Using the excess heat from your utility room is a great idea. However if you are taking the air off the floor of that room you wll only increase the heated air in that room. Try taking the air from close to the ceiling in that room. This will take the hot air out and draw cooler air into that room while drawing the heat out to be cycled to the solar panels and then into the other rooms of the home.

I think you have a great system and I'm not trying to be a know it all, just trying to help.

  • My advise is to stay with your blower for the highest efficiency of the system. It's better to have a maximum airflow and let the snap switches do the controlling. Using PV to power an auto blower may be costly for enough PV to power the auto blower. I'd say use 2 auto blowers, or however many it takes to match your present air flow, and a plug in 12V power supply.

Noise would be the thing to reduce and you have the right idea about putting the blower in an insulated box.
