It says he wrote IN English not that he was English.

I love every word he wrote, I love the meaning of suffering, I love the meaning of pain, I love the way he discovered the knowledge of the pain, I love his passion, his stories, I love Goethe and the importance that his words had on him.... I love Wilde!!
