The title is sarcasm. Keep nasty comments to yourself please, they do not bother me so are a waste of your time. This clearly is not abuse and everyone can see this whether you agree with this 'training method' or not.

*1st off, the reason for the title: I have had all my life people telling me that I abuse my horse because I do parelli. I do not think this is the case. This horse has nothing on in this video and in is a fence that is barely 2ft with the gate open! She could have ran away, she could have jumped out and she could have easily ran at me and beat me down! But she didn't, she CHOSE to work with me. Through no force whatsoever, please continue reading if you want my views on it*

I am 17 years old and have two horses and have worked with a range of horses using parelli from native mischevious ponies, ex-race horses right up to rescue horses including a rescue arab stallion who I sadly had to re-home due to the situation I was in, I regret it but everything happens for a reason. So please don't tell me I'm one of those 'wanna be horse whisperers that doesn't know anything' because I believe I know something and I am pretty sure I am no horse whisperer nor do I intend to be. What I do is pureley to help the horses I work with and to give them a better and stable life in a good and loving home, something every horse needs especially some from difficult, probelmatic or traumatic backgrounds.

This is Liz and her horse chipper, a 15.1 ex-racing TB with a lot of problems. She has done parelli with her for eleven years and believe me this video only shows the basics of what they have achieved. If Liz had not found chipper, she would most likely be shot. Parelli saved both their lives and their bond is inseperable and something only everyone should dream of. They have hit rock bottom at times and have come sky high now.

Liz and Jo (another woman not shown in this video, also with a ex-racing tb difficult mare) have taught me parelli since I was 10 years old, starting with my 12.3 Welsh B. I have since never looked back.

I am not trying to say ''parelli is the best'' ''change to parelli'' or ''I hate everyone that doesn't use this method'' because that is not true. I have seen people do amazing things with their horses without it, showjumping? Dressage? They are amazing, those horses are so powerful yet so trusting in their rider. However, I will not tolerate people that say it's a disgusting method that doesn't work. I am pretty sure it does, and like I said I have worked with some difficult horses and a range of them, it has helped every single one of them. I, however have seen parelli fall into the wrong hands, the hands of people that think they are so experienced that they do parelli but add ''their own 'Natural' methods'' alongside, this, confusing their horse or causing pain, it's inexperienced people that try parelli and loose trust that give those who can actually do it, the bad name.

I believe I can do it and it's what I wish to do when I'm older. (I wish to start my own buisness of helping problem horses, buting problem or project horses, bringing them on and re-homing them on a 'permanent loan' basis, where they basically come straight back to me if something doesn't work out)

Thankyou for reading. I hope this has now changed your views.

  • @MsWizbang I honestly don't think this training method is disgusting. How is this bad? This horse was told to be shot when her owner first got her. This training method saved her life.

  • title is fucking decieving

  • 0.o huh?

  • @MsWizbang "Full of sound and furry, signifying nothing."

By the way, read these in the order I posted them.

  • @MsWizbang Have you ever seen horses interact? With all your "experience," which is just hear-say, I would assume so. Horses bite and kick with a force that a human using their thumb could never match. Do not presume to understand something when you've been raised to believe it. Just because you've been taught something, doesn't make it so.

  • @MsWizbang telling us your age was foolish. People respect their elders, not big-headed little kids. And trust me, as much as you're a teenager, your playing the part of a child. Do you know the definition of insanity according to Einstein? doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. It is what you're doing if you didn't get it. In case you think I've contradicted myself, I haven't. I didn't say you were bashing people the first post I made, but now I do.

  • @MsWizbang do not disrespect the people that use it. Even if this method beat a horse into the ground, you cannot make an argument by bashing the people behind it. You look like a fool when you do. You've just broken one of the number one rules of a persuasive argument. By attacking us, it doesn't matter what other facts you provide (even true ones) because you've lost all credibility with everyone inside and outside the argument. Also, with you being as young as you are,

  • @MsWizbang I wasn't trying to be insulting, I was trying to make a point. I also never said you attacked anyone. You are reading to much into a simple statement. I respect that you find this to be a bad way of horse training, I respect that you feel NH is a better way. However, you seem to have no respect in the other direction. You are snippy and acting the part of a bigot, and before you take that the wrong way, please look the word up. You don't have to approve of this way, but
