@lilgreenfingerpuppet well, I paid for a skim and new gasket and my cars done 60k since and absolutly fine. im now on 115,000 miles. granted not the best on fuel but only a few mpg extra in any other car. Very nippy car and sounds like no other, will be selling mine in a month or so but Ive had it 6 years and its served me well.
@lilgreenfingerpuppet Also, regarding the headgasket....I can do a new headgasket, timing belt and waterpump for under £100, a garage could probably do a basic headgasket job for around £300 absolute cheapest. Worth doing - my 2000 Rover 45 1.8 (k series) done 135k miles before the headgasket went (and it only went then due to a coolant leak), is now fixed and on its way to 200k miles!
@lilgreenfingerpuppet@lilgreenfingerpuppet You complain about the economy....and then state that your trading it in for a new car......surely that doesnt make any sense at all!? How much is it going to cost you for the new car? Compare that to what it will cost to repair the 200 - youve said its a great car, you must like it......and I agree, my 99 214Si 16v was absolutely fantastic, I loved it.
i am just getting rid of my rover due to head gasket problems a common fault on the K series in this particualr model it has only done 45,000 miles in 10 years.. apart from that its a good car very quick and love the sound of the engine and high revs but not very economical and tax bracket going up so im trading it in for a new mazda 2 sport 3 door in black
I love the final 200's, the iL and iS especially. Really well equipped actually! I also love Psychology and appreciate the fight or flight referencing in this advert =P lol
What a classy looking car, even today. Gotta love that blue. I had a 214si in tahiti blue and I loved it. Regret selling it to this day but I sold it for a rover coupe so wasn't all bad. HAd many rovers over the past 3 years which Ive been driving and all have been brilliant fun and entertaining. Now own a facelift MG ZT CDTI
I Love My Rover 200 1.8 Is , It Has 118,100 Miles On The Clock And Its Still Running Like A Dream ! , Good To See The Advert For My Car Since I'm Only 18 I Wont Remember It Being Brand New (N)
