@mjmcomputers Thats how my toshiba is the jack that you plug the charger into is called a singatron and it plugs into 4 pins that are on the mother board but the part where you plug the charger into on mine broke so I have to buy a new one -__-

Great video. I just repaired a DC jack on a laptop that had a cracked solder joint and it is working fine now.
A quick tip for anyone doing solder work on a laptop motherboard, make sure you have not accidental gotten solder where you shouldn't and shorted two solder points together. And also using a multimeter to check the resistance of the solder joints you have just made is a good idea too.

Why cant the makers of these Computers design a Socket that can be pulled out from the motherboard, itself designed like a plug, so it just connects into pins from the inside ?? - like a normal mains socket, is what im trying to say, It wouldnt be such a pain in the ass job trying to replace - maybe i should put this to the makers and hopefully become rich?!

@MRROBBIEWATTS I replaced a plug on a sony that had the jack mounted in the laptop and a short little cord that plugged into the motherboard. That is how they should all be made.
