The boss in the start can be kinda confusing to new comers but yeah your suppose to blow up the car then throw the Glaive into the fire then throw it into the black thingy thats blocking the gate.

Then do that slow motion special with the glaive then throw it through the gap on the gate and into the power box thingy then finally power throw the glaive at the jackal boss and run behind it and jack the guy thats controlling it and then BAM you get to control the jackal and fire machine guns and rockets.

Also whenever someone shoots a rocket at you use those counterattack flare things, that will cause the rocket targeting you to aim directly at the counter attack flares.
