    The media has demonstrated an increasing trend towards inoffensive, anodyne programming. Satire used to be a valued asset of the stage to make veiled yet humourous attacks on society and politics. I would say the programming off BBC3 to be most indicative of where we are heading. The apparent comedy cowers from any even mild examination of anything slightly controversial in favour of vacuous, empty characters being fed tired dialogue
