Karachi: The youth represents 63 percent of Pakistan's population and it is these youngsters that are playing an instrumental role across the globe and making history, according to the US consul general in Karachi. William J Martin was addressing a conference held by Blinck -- a youth resource group -- in conjunction with the US consulate at a local hotel on Friday.
Hundreds of youth activists between the ages of 16 and 26 participated in the event. They had been exclusively selected from musicians, bloggers, debaters, community developers and artists. "Pakistan's youth as a group represent a plethora of untapped potential which renders them to a force to be reckoned with," said Sidra Iqbal, the founder and CEO of Blinck. The participants were divided into groups of four to take part in various activities, which included making Eid cards, talking about International Youth Day and voting on what they believed is the number one challenge faced by the Pakistani youth today.
