The medical system wore me out. I'm not going for this. I'll deal with the pain. Doctor, $20, Referral, Specialist $20, Specialist > MRI = $500 deductible. Screw that.
Arthrogram? No idea what that is.

@jamescaptainfarrell I have similar symptoms. Check to see if you have a sports hernia or possibly a labral tear of the hip....this sounds kind of like a labral tear of the hip..just shootin it out there for ya. Have you ever had a hip arthrogram?

Google: The Thompson Maneuver - it works like a charm for me - it's easy to do and alleviates 85 percent of my pain almost immediately - Orthopedist Alec Thompson popularized it - the directions come up when you Google it

I had a car accident in June of '05, in Nov. of '05, my lower back began to hurt so bad, that by Christmas all I could do was lay on the couch. Diagnositic nerve blocks showed pain coming from the medial branch nerves, but rhizotomy did not stop the pain. So, Dr. John Keating, does the SI joint have anything to do with my pain?
-
Does SIJ pain also cause pain in the medial branch nerves?

I had this surgery last august. Wow! Amazing Dr! I am pain free with no limitations. I'll answer any questions. Thanks for giving me my life back Dr. Keating. You rock!!!

My back is fucked up and I'm only 15:(

if you have lower back pain go to a chiropractor or a P, its LESS invasive. I'm seeing a chiropractor right now for SIJ disfunction and trust me my back pain is going away.

I can nerver see a situation where fusion is necessary. Chiropractic and rehab should sort it.
SI Joint Surgery: over 85% of people who have it end up in MORE pain than before.
Just due to TIME alone the fusion will fail. The SI Joint needs to move. EVEN if it's a tiny amount. I mean Milimeters.
The good SI joint will eventually fail over time due to the odd movement caused by the Fused side.
And, only 3 to maybe 5 places in the US do this. NO medical Dr will treat someone for this only to prevent infection.
Be an INFORMED patient.
Do look into this, but all of it.

The SI joint can become misaligned and my physical therapist corrected it.
I had a auto accident that a car pulled out in front of me on a highway and I pushed on the brake so hard it jammed my SI joint out of place.
My SI joint tends to go out of place several times and when just stepping over a curb.
When I researched auto accidents and SI joint injury I found out this was common in this situation.
PT,good shoes, stretching, and anti flammatories help me the most. BJ
