In this video Jeff highlights architect John Portman's influence on Atlanta and reveals a little know original artifact of Atlanta history--the Zero Milepost Marker.
The GDOT is proposing to redevelop an area on this tour, behind Phillips arena, commonly referred to as "The Gulch," for a multimodal transportation terminal. This video is a production of the Office of Envirnomental Services of the Georgia DOT.

  • The city did not have to be "destroyed" by John Portman -- look at Boston, which suffered as much if not more and now has a much more thriving downtown because so much of what was good about the build environment was NOT destroyed and replaced with faceless, mysonginistic towers. But that's just me; I could be wrong...
