Somewhere between the greed for money and sound judgment, the legends of country music were tossed aside for the outlandish sound they call country music today.

  • While the CMA keeps inducting every sideman, stagehand, and tv sidekick, the great Jimmy Wakely is still unrecognized by the Country Music Hall Of Fame. For shame! *****

  • jimmy wakely reminds me of bing crosby in his easy-going style. seems to me i heard someone else say that back when...

  • Great tune for the jukebox. You could do the Texas Two--Step to this one. This song was a little controversial for its time since it mentioned a clandestine relationship between adults, something that was not talked about openly. Wakely brought this out as a duet with Margaret Whiting in one of the first crossovers from country to pop. It was because of this song that many people believed that Wakely was having an affair with Ms. Whiting.

  • I am brought to here by Uncle Ray, the best DJ on earth : P

  • I agree Jimmy should be in the hall of fame.

  • He needs to be in the hall of fame . wake up nashville!

  • davesharonpokey,

No matter what they say, it is possible to influence the CMA. After seeing Carl Smith passed up in 2001and again in 2002, I decided it was time to send them a very nice, respectful letter reminding them of Carl's accomplishments, the respect he held from his peers, and how the time to honor this living legend was quickly passing.

Vince Gill made some of the same points at the induction so I'm pretty sure they read my letter.

  • @glipzik I fully agree! Let's get him inducted you guys!!!

  • terrific 5 stars

  • My favorite Jimmy Wakely song! Thank you.
