Ladéroute is best known as the Jacquino in Toscanini's recording of "Fidelio." What may not be known by many is that he was also the tenor who sang the American premiere (at Tanglewood) of Britten's "Peter Grimes" (1946) and Mozart's "Idomeneo" (1947). He was a gifted recitalist and a fine teacher.
