I saw Elvin three times; first time in Omaha around 80, then twice in Iowa. Val Air Ballroom and Commador Hotel...all shows outstanding! Rocked My Soul.
@loninobar I saw him in some club in S F back in I think 77. He played forever I was just a couple feet away from him. Of course I've seen him in Reno and Angels Camp too. Long time ago.
@7878pookie Hey,,were u in San Francisco back in 78'? There was this club off Broadway back then, too far for me to remember,,too many webs, lol,,, anyway,I saw him there and yes he 'rocked my soul' ,,,give it up for Elvin Bishop!!!!
@only1fattydaddy I've been lucky enough to see him twice: First was in '78, (with Stoneground!) and the second in '94 or '95, both times were club venues. Both clubs are now gone, but my collection of vinyl lives on! Only one like Elvin. Real feel good music.
@7878pookie .... feel as tho' i kno u .... my ol' buddy, Doc (Julian), and i used to hang out with the young man nthe '70-'90's at long gone venues like the Bodega, the Lodge in Felton, the Hall, Oddysy Rm, old Waldorf, etc thisman is a hoot on and off the stage, but he sure had his very sad times and all too often. But, to this day, he still likes everybody to "party 'til the cows come home!" Always been one of the very best guitar players, ever, especially his "bottle-neck", could be the best
Not for everybody! U have had to have been there! Mr Bishop, well, he will "Rock My Soul!" If U want to get the party started in any kind of group, well, here it was, is, and shall be!
