That sounds amazing.
It frustrates me to no end that modern "education" is the conglomerate it is today.
I hope someday this style of schooling is dominant within society.

That's too easy to research. Google homeschoolers. Google sudbury valley alumni. A 2nd generation of unschoolers are now growing up. The question of whether or not they end up living in the woods unable to read or speak is now moot. It's happening. It's happened. Why doncha just admit it to yourself, you just plain don't like this kind of thing. It gets up your conformist nose, that's all.

Beautiful. Imagine, schools based on trust and respect for the child instead of fear and control. Allowing children to take ownership of their lives and follow their inner wisdom and passion.
This is a good sign that we no longer view children as possessions, inferiors, slaves, blank slates for our manipulation, or problems.

Charter schools aren't necessarily democratic.

These interviews are about Sudbury schools, not Charter schools.
Democracy is an essential part of Sudbury schools.

Also, people that their daddys own a successful family buisness who they are going to pass down to their dumbass kids, no offence but this place is a joke to most of the world...

"no offence"?! Well, the way you argue tells its own tale.
Maybe a "speakeasy" is the right place for generalizations and insultings (potheads, dumbass kids), but here on this webside it is definitely not - "honestly".

@kapriole i might as well get a GED at my local highschool, its worth more to colleges and jobs than ur diploma, why would u waste so much money to do nothing all day, i can do that for free

@pflare123 Some people value such places like Democratic Schools where they can interact in a community with complete responsibility for themselves. As a side-effect they get soft skills that are in great demand as well in colleges as in jobs. In terms of money: Spending ten years or more at a local highschool can be a huge waste of time (time = money, right?). At least time is better invested if people follow their own interests. If necessary, a GED is always possible.
