The Eldoret based Moi University has been closed indefinitely after 2 consecutive days of riots sparked off by what the students termed as exploitative and exorbitant fares by public service vehicles. The riots turned tragic yesterday after 1 student died after a car they had commandeered was involved in an accident.

I still insist there are better ways to skin a cat..... and academicians should know better...its time our Universities realised that rioting and looting is never a solution.... ask ODM supporters

Mwendapolee umejua kabisa the key is boycott kuna wakati tulifanya hivyo shule coz we knew if we rioted and went home tulikuwa in avery tight situation we would have been expelled while in fm 4 we boycotted 2 meals and it worked wonders the remainer of the year we lived like kings

They are not thugs mam, they have a reasonable case. I would blame it on the University Administration and the local administratioin who allowed the students to trek several km from the campus before intervening.From the information I got, this is not the first time MU student has died due to protests.Whats worse female students end up getting raped by the locals,fellow students and the police when authorities act this late.The stupid acting VC doesn't deserve the post,idiot he is
