This is one of my first windmills based on the F&P Smartdrive motor as its alternator. The blades were made from plywood, not the best, but didn't know any better at the time. More at http://www.thebackshed.com

  • hi whats the voltage out of the generator? And did you make the minimill?

  • The F&P can be configured for 12, 24, 48, whatever volts. I run a 12v system, though 24v is the better way to go. Yes I made the minimill.

    theres one on ebay!

  • Can you buy a smartdrive by itself ?

  • Stepper motors are hard to use. I have tried and failed. Use a regular dc motor with two wires that had magnets, not field coils.

  • hi i am using a stepper motor too but mine has 4 wires coming out of it can i hook a bulb up to it? instead of charging batteries? pleas repky back
