Whether or not its harmful to their bodies, its part of their culture, and we as outsiders should accept that. People in the west fill themselves with silicon and other drugs, to make their breasts look bigger or their lips more puffy, and it does the same amount of damage.

I'm just saw this on NatGeo TV. Now they're showing mothers and grandmothers breast ironing their daughters. Makes you wonder what else goes on in other countries.

I agree with you, but I would like to say there is a difference.This harmful traditional practice is forced on their children while adults in the western world make the choice to put themselves in harm for cosmetic purposes. It kinda of reminds me of the old practice of foot binding in China forced on young girls just for cosmetic purposes. So I can see how people see this negatively.

No. We as outsiders can't accept this. There are many traditions that are just wrong. Do you think these girls enjoy this shit? When they are little they can't avoid it and become acustomed with time. It's like in some places in Africa where they cut off the little girls clit and etcetera. It's part of their so called culture and I, as an outsider, can't accept these things.
