If the Prius had a diesel turbo engine I would buy it. At the moment it is 20 years behind, diesel overtook it and Toyot stayed in the past. In a 1600cc ford focus diesel turbo I get 55mpg in the town and 73mpg at 60mph on the motorway. Cheaper to run, tax, insure & buy than a Prius. Low emissions too, no expensive heavy batteries or high servicing costs either. So why do people buy the Prius? Go for a turbo diesel for economy, power, running costs, insurance & tax. The prius is dead & gone!

No worries! The Prius is good for short and/or long distance driving. And selecting a gear is not difficult; you just push the Park button to park instead of putting the gear shift selector to P.
