AnalogMan Juicer Compressor Demo

Squier Fender Classic Vibe 50's Telecaster

Marshall Class 5 Amplifier

The Juicer is a clone of the old Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer and I love it!

  • hi i am relatively new to effects pedals and at the risk of sounding stupid, was wondering what the actual purpose of a compressor was? will it make my transitions from clean to overdrive or distortion smoother?

  • @rockstar6t9 A compressor limits the loud sounds and it boosts the quiet sounds. It can make fingerstyle or picking sound pluckier.

  • I got a Bi-Comp because I was curious what it sounded like, but I wanted a regular compressor more. Now the Squeezer side is the only side I mess with. So great!

  • @JohnnyJohnnyJohnny

The Bi-Comp is like a Ross and an Orange Squeezer right? Nice.

Does your Bi-Comp make a popping sound when you turn it on?

  • The Juicer is really nice. I have a Boss CE3 and it's very noisy. I was just playing some old favorite Elvis Costello tunes (clean) with the Juicer and it's very nice and warm and organic. It reacts really well to your right hand. I make these videos with a cheap FLIP camera for fun and they really don't do justice to a pedal like this. I have about 10 compressors and this one is the best. It nails the old Dire Straits, Jeff Baxter/Steely Dan sounds. Feels good when you play it. Worth it!

  • @studio1087 Yeah, it's the Ross/Squeezer. Very interesting combination, especially when both are on. I used to have a lot of gear, but now that I have more dynamic amps it's typically that or my clean boost that's on when I play (depending on the situation) and not much else.

It definitely pops, but no more than any other pedal I have with 3PDT true bypass switches. I guess my old Robotalk I and Moogerfoogers have different switches that are really quiet and easy to click, though.

That's the sound I like, too. I got rid of the Boss for the same reason...noise, didn't feel good, had like one good setting amongst 4 knobs, etc. I'm looking at the Analogman Mini Bi Comp now, because it would be great to have both the Orange Squeezer and Ross circuits, but I think the Juicer would do the job for $100 less. We'll see! Thanks again-Matt

  • Thinking of one of these now. I just sold my Boss compressor after getting tired of it, and was going to go with a Dyna Comp until I saw what Analogman had available. I just want a warm, simple compressor mostly for cleans.
