Dreamware is from "Garden of Eden" circa 1979
Great stuff, and nice video clips. Pound for
pound, Klaus Doldinger's Passport has been the
most consistent in the "jazz-rock" genre. Truly
underrated! Please come to the States, Klaus!

It's reminding me a bit of the style Daft Punk is using such old jazz-rock to house samples in tracks like "Voyager" os "Something about us". Maybe thats another result of the influence of KD....

For those who use Facebook, I started a Passport group. Search for "Klaus Doldinger's Passport". See you there!

Did they get too "Disco" at this point? Where was the weird drumming and free sax sound of their other stuff?

What is that instrument on which Hendrik Schaper kicks his solo called ?
It seems to me that Passport spent the 1970s drifting away from jazz and more into heavy rock territory. By the time they recorded this material they had ventured into pop & disco. To each his own.

@bogeybast - Well, disco certainly had its influence over a lot of jazz-rock by 1980 and Klaus always has always had a bit of pop sensibility. But you lost me on the progression from jazz to heavy rock throughout the 70's, when in fact Passport was always known as a jazz-rock ensemble - in fact from its earliest days, a quite pioneering one.
And it's not as though Dreamware] represents the stylistic center of this version of Passport. But as you wrote - to each his own. Thanks for sharing...
