I played in a band called Turkey's Delight in 1981/1982.

This is our cover of the 1982 hit from The Jam.

The track was recorded live at Ritchies Nite Spot, Preston on September 25th 1982.

Turkey's Delight were:
Gary Houston - Keyboards, Vocals
Ken Aubrey - Guitar
Mal Gott - Bass
Dave Cail - Drums, Lead Vocals

The photos are of my family and from the area I grew up in. I lived in Edithvale, a small suburb on the shores of Port Phillip Bay, 30kms south of Melbourne. The railway was our lifeline to "town" (Melbourne) and also had to be crossed to get to the beach.

  • Wow, now there are some OLD pictures there, hehe. Keep it up Dave, good work. xx

  • @skywalka65 Come on admit it...your childhood was in black and white too...lol.

  • Happy Birthday Dave from the Turkeys and their extended family (me). You look like your are still enjoying being involved in the music industry and are living life to the fullist. Hope you have a great day.

  • Thanks Noel (I figured the correct answer was C)...lol).

Good to hear from you mate. Yeah, still making music for a living, so no complaints. I hope you're well and keeping out of trouble.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Do you ever hear from any of the guys ?

Last time I saw Raggs was at his mother's funeral, about 5 years ago.

  • Haven't seen or spoken to any of them for some time now. I last saw Tex in '85, Ken in '95 and Raggs in '99.

  • @sproutcentral Ooh, cheeky! You've got a few years on me yet. But I do remember having a black and white TV. I think that was cos we were poor though, not from ancient times. lol. xxx

  • Gee that was a good guess about the location then ?

I guess that would make me either

    A) Very Smart , B) An Arborist, or C) the person who took that photo and a few others in your clip.

  • Cool.

The pic was taken not far from Glenrowan on a property just south of Wangaratta. That's the Warby Ranges in the backgound.

  • Yeah, went to Bonny High. Was is the same year as your brother IC. That first photo in the clip looks like Ned Kelly country, up around Glenrowan area, in North East Victoria...
