A new laser system can kill mosquitoes without harming other insects, as shown in slowmotion video. It's all part of the effort to combat malaria.

@SaltusEtiam they would need to kill both cuz since the females r the ones that bite, they spread the disease. but the males and females make more mosquitos so they both die.

I would hope that it targets male ones anyway so all mosquitoes can be eliminated.

Yep I agree! But if you live in a country with a lot of these pests and you have money to waste, I'd get one!

@fab186 Don't think it would do too much. Insects are fragile when it comes to focused heat, plus the laser is only emitted for a tenth of a second.
