When we were trying to convince Schuyler's old school district to incorporate her speech device into her curriculum, we made a movie of her first efforts to use it. She'd only had the device for about two weeks at this point.

  • I got my bachelor's in speech pathology last year (I'm taking a break before tackling grad school for that), and learned about these devices by working with a kindergartner at an elementary school where I'm an aide in a special ed. class (and I must admit, I rushed home and downloaded the software and geeked out for hours that first day). I just finished your book Schuyler's Monster and absolutely loved it. You've helped inspire me to try to go back to school sooner than I had thought.

  • My son Kingsley 8yo, really enjoyed this, he's at a very similar stage with Vantage, but has very little exposure to any other device users. We even do exactly the same thing with him saying "Pizza" and me telling him to say the whole sentence! I've shown him this and your 'Purple Cow' several times recently, so Schuyler has become his video role-model, and you've become mine - thanks for all your work. Is Schuyler interested in other AAC users? If so, she can see Kingsley's YouTube. James

  • What a precious little girl, who has become a beautiful young lady! Thank you for posting these...I've enjoyed your book, as well...Greetings from San Antonio!

  • Great video! My son Jaymes just got his Vantage Lite this week, though he has been using one in therapy for a little bit. It's harder for me to learn than for him, I've never dealt with something so complicated! Great to see your daughter using hers so well!
