@PaintedW0LF It's because it was in Neary's home country. Ward would have to do something dramatic late in the fight for him to get a decision.

This reminds me of why I loved boxing so much back in the day. I wish I could watch boxing fights like this all the time with my monthly MMA / UFC fix.

Just came back from watching The Fighter. Great movie but the portrayal of this fight in the movie is inaccurate. They made it seem like Ward was getting dominated the entire fight until the last moment when he knocked out Neary. Probably for dramatic purposes. I guess it worked because the movie was great.
