Refuted on what exactly? They believe they see intelligence in complex systems and DNA code. In their opinion random mutation and natural selection can not explain this. Nobody has refuted this or they would not still be arguing the point. People have arguing other points some of them good and that is why it is a debate. Nobody has explained the formation of DNA so nothing has been refuted and Meyer is free to state his point. Why do you care so much about this?

If you study deeply a DNA molecule, you'll find so much well organized informations that you can not simply give credit that all this was a result by chance. And this is from just a molecule perspective (imagine all the complexity of a a human being)

It's just about this undoubtable logic that presumes an evidence of a Inteligent Designer. It's simply much more convencing than the atheist perspective that we are all a result by chance, with no proposal, rules or whatever...

ID is pure science. The thing is that the more the real and honest sceince advances, the more evidences of designer you find, and that has to be God.
