Watertown Area Cares Clinic -- Better Health Care for Wisconsin Familes: Part 1

The Watertown Area Cares Clinic (WACC) is made up of a diverse group of people from our community. They are committed to bringing quality healthcare to a forgotten segment of our society - the working uninsured. The WACC will provide health services to the uninsured whose income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. Services will include physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and medications. The clinic will not bill patients for services. As a division of the Dodge and Jefferson Healthier Community Partnerships, it is a charitable medical organization relying completely on the generosity of donors. The Watertown Area Cares Clinic provides free primary medical care, a financial assistance program for prescription medications for uninsured adults and their families in the greater Watertown area. Medical care is provided by volunteer physicians and nurse practitioners, and the WACC's on-staff nurse practitioner. Patients are seen by appointment only at our clinic. An additional part of our mission is to educate young health care providers, who work under the supervision of a fully licensed practitioner and to accumulate information in support of a comprehensive policy for access to health care.
