  • I love Nebraska! However, this song is bad (it says there are a million reasons, but all we're given is a handful of pathetic drivel), and the video is worse (Nebraska IS a beautiful state...did you have to find the worst photos ever followed by boring ones you show repeatedly???). It makes Nebraska look hick, is a little too country, and I don't think the person who wrote this song has traveled in Nebraska much, or the lyrics and video would be so much better. & I'm a proud former rural farmer!

  • I'm a farmer, I live in the country. I don't appreciate being made to look like a bumpkin rube! Ninety percent of Nebraskans live in Omaha and Lincoln, not the country. Reggae, rap, or jam. Just not this mainstream unimaginative Nashville pop.

  • poop!

  • @NETBone1 Every state has its urban areas. i will agree that Nebraska has some of the best scenery and landscape in the world, and I am proud to say I live in this state. But some people are meant for the country, some for the city. Some people need the amenities found only in the city. Some people much rather prefer the open prairie. All that said, Nebraska is a great place top live, but I couldn't see myself living in a town like Hebron, Chadron, Weeping Water, etc.

  • @coda623 Why would you have pride in being from the city? Nebraska is true grit pioneer state with roots that go down deep. Most of our land mass has that pride. Why don't you take pride in that? There wouldn't be much pride in being from Nebraska if there wasn't so much open space and beautiful landscapes to brag about. Nebraska, in my opinion, has THE most beautiful landscapes in the country if not the world, and I have been to quite a few states. But we all have our opinions.

  • @NETBone1 People from the city also have a great pride in being from the city. I'm not saying one is better than the other. I'm sure both the country life and the city life have their benefits.

  • @coda623 all i'm going to say is that a lot of folks out in the real nebraska have a great pride in being from the country and obviosly you don't see that where you're at.

  • @NETBone1 Honestly I'm not trying to start an argument, but how does enjoying fishing, hunting, and trapping make you a hick? I'm sure many people from places like Chicago, L.A., and New York also like to do that. And most states only have a small land area taken up by large cities. But that doesn't make EVERYONE in the non-urban areas a complete hick. I'm sure there are a lot of hicks in Nebraska, but even people in small towns aren't always complete hicks ;)

  • @coda62those towns only take up a small fraction of the land mass of NE. the rest of the land mass is made up of small towns, villages, farms, and ranches. plus a lot of people in those "urban" towns, love to hunt, fish, and trap. Plus, in the 2010, about 75% of the youth who could hunt in nebraska did. 40% of our state's population bought fishing permits, and that's not including people who don't have to buy permits or only fish on private land. One last thing, cabelas was started in Nebraska.

  • I am from and currently live in NYC.

Have sailed a lot of the world in the US Merchant Marine, USN, traveled 47 of the lower 48, Mexico, Canada.

Nebraska and Omaha are more than impressive.

I found the people there integral, intelligent, interesting, helpful, and decent on a recent trip there in July, 2010.

A fine place with good people.

  • @NETBone1 I do live in Omaha, but Bellevue, Lincoln, and Grand Island are all classified as urban areas and when you take into account that over half the state's population lives in Omaha and Lincoln alone, I wouldn't quite say most of us are hicks. The state population is about 1.7 million I believe and Omaha (800k) Lincoln (300k) and Grand Island (about .5k) that's already about 1.1 million right there.

  • @coda623 actually most of us are hicks, you must live in omaha. This song in't the best though
