That the Brits were evil oppressors. For some reason, Americans tend to believe this as fact. The only reason SOME of the people (not even the majority) rebelled was due to taxes being raised to stop the entire Empire from collapsing during war time. According to this trailer, it was because the British were killing, burning crops and breaking into people's homes. What the trailer fails to portray is that none of this was reason for rebellion at all. It makes out that the Brits were plain evil.

Americans on the Revolution. Everyone knows that. And they need to understand that it was an amazing thing the Americans did. They stood up to the most powerful empire on the Earth at that time. The Revolution was started because of how unfair Britain was to the US. And some people are saying this commercial is racist...it is not at all. Britain is a country...not a race. I love this commercial becauseit shows the Americans defiance of Britain leading to the birth of a nation.

Is everybody here forgotten that the americans and the british are enimies for the native americans?? And the americans and the british also have attack them?? There is no evil and good on the battlefield

The trailer was like that, judging a game by it's trailer is foolish. Play through the actual story. Considering that Washington looks like an asshole for a good portion of the game, it isn't one sided.

You get to kill a Native American, Patriots and Loyalists/British. Sounds bloody fair to me.

The trailer is misleading. Considering in the actual GAME, you go after Patriots, Loyalists and the actual British.

Conner, the main character, eventually realizes the best interests of the Assassins does not match that of the either side of the war.

And as to the actual reasons for rebellion, yes you're correct in addressing the "evils" in the trailer. However, it wasn't just the taxes, the idea of "virtual representation" and the increasing number of unfavorable laws also sparked the war.
