Great Singer! Sweet are the best band in the 70's.
-
born in 54 , i was old enough to know what the impact was of the Sweet , and i have a lot of memories by every single between funny funny and love is like oxygen .From the moment they were allowed to play himself with their guitars and drum , Sweet was realy born
wig wam bam 72 , harder sound , they had 5 singles at nr 2 in the uk - to bad
the moment Brian was out the band there no more hits , the magic was gone

@walter4092 Who knows... Steve didn't go into it further. It leaves room for speculation though. There were a lot of people around at that time who didn't like Sweet and envied them their success. And as much Brian was liked by his fans as much there have been others who disliked him.

@erin0563 i do have that book , are you ready steve * and indeed , it could be it was planned , by whom ?
-
@walter4092 Steve wrote HIS biography NOT Brians. The Connolly family stated more than once that Brian stopped drinking after his multiple heart attack. He was seriously ill after that n never recovered fully. Steve did comment on the attack on Brian in 1974 by saying, they -qoute: proceeded to beat the daylights out of him. One of them was heard to say, "Kick him in the throat and make sure he doesn't sing again". I have since heard that it was planned" qoute end- Now think for yourself...

@erin0563 because my english is a bit limited , i di have to reach out what you wrote .
In the book * are you ready steve * Steve didn t say nothing about it .But i believe you ,

I saw Sweet in 1987 at a student union in London. A band I knew was supporting them and I was backstage. Brian was the only original member I think, all the rest were young guys with poodle perm hair. They were booed and had bottles thrown at them and Brian came off stage shaking. A mate of mine put him arm round Brian's shoulder and talked him back into going on stage, telling him how great he was. Brian was so obviously fucked up on drink, it was so sad, I used to love Sweet when I was a kid.

individualy brilliant ,,collectively amazing ,,, we want sweet we want sweet
-
At least Brian got smart in the end and admitted that he ignored all the warnings and the two heart attacks he had before.. but sadly it was too late
-
really sad to watch. What a shame what alcohol can do to people. Brian was my first idol when I was like ten or eleven. Still love their music.
-

@LetThereBeRocker Meant to say "early 97" or "the 90s"... mixed up my words. Brian passed away in Feb, 1997.

Poor Brian, 14 heart attacks in 24 hours in 1981, died of alcohol induced liver failure in early 90s. When i watch old The Sweet videos I feel a sense of sadness at his slide to ruin. This video was taken in 87, the same time they had a failed The Sweet reunion due to Brian's health. Brian has always been my favorite The Sweet member. Let us all remember him not as he is here but as he is when the video ends, in Fox on the Run, squinty eyed and bopping up and down... RIP BC.

The Sweet : music from the golden seventies . I was a great fan of them .
-
@valentinian2003 That he sounds like a concentration camp guard.
-
@devtrev , what are you trying to indicate?
-
@MistikDarcness PLEASE..PLEASE..WE SWEET FANS MUST KEEP THE MEMORY ALIVE.
It's such a shame he's gone.
Which is why we must keep the memory of him alive. He was such an inspiration;
all four of them were.
Rest in peace, Brian and Mick.

I think that lost quality is what made him so attractive. The music is still great, but he is greatly missed by his fans.
