A tutorial showing you how to fade your colour video clips to black & white while zooming without seeing the crossfade
If you try and do this with a normal crossfade while still zooming you can see the clip jump across to the following clip. With this method it is completely seamless. If you have a still picture you can do a normal crossfade and it won't show any jumps or cuts

This also works with any filter that you care to choose. If you want to fade the B&W clip back to colour just repeat the process further along the video, this time fading the B&W into colour.

  • how to you save HD videos?

  • Hi, click on the share step and select share, create video file and then choose one of the HD presets to save your video

  • Hey Johnboy, I have an unrelated question about Corel Video Pro x2. I'm using a "playback speed" on some home videos, creating an effect that slows down voices in such a way that my 2 year old son has a really LOW voice. However, when I go to turn the video into a file, the video does not give me the low voice, it just makes the audio jittery. I've been using the wmv. format. Any suggestions in retaining the low audio when slowing down a video?

  • Do you mean you are slowing the video down or just changing the pitch of the voice in the audio settings?

  • I'm slowing the video down. When I click on my video, there's an option for "playback speed" and I'm slowing that to about 45%. That gives a really deep voice. But then the deep voice doesn't come out when I turn the movie into a movie file. And by the way, along with the rest of these comments, thanks for your tutorials. I've picked up alot through alot of them.

  • Thanks for the comments, you can just change the pitch of the voice without slowing the video down, you do this by spliting the audio from the video, right click on the separate audio file and select filters where you will see one for pitch shift. Try it this way and see if it works. You could try saving as a different format, this might cure it
