Toronto singer-songwriter Peter Kastner auditions for a local music venue called The Dakota -- next to which Kastner actually lives --by putting video clips of his original songs up on Youtube. The firs song in this series is about "Crazy Strings," a Toronto bluegrass band, and is called "Medicine To My Soul."

  • Crazy Strings rule!!!!

I love wednesdays at the Silver Dollar .. indeed, medicine for the soul! Right on!

  • Thanks for posting. Hope you can come to The Free Times

Sun eve, May 4 (8PM $15 cover) when I'll be playing that

tribute to Crazy Strings, as well as some other tunes you might enjoy. Of course, my fantasy is to get Chris Coole

and the others to allow me to play the song with them some Wednesday.A fine band!!

  • Yes, I have the old Warner Brothers video edition of Big Boy - I hope I can upgrade to DVD one day on this title.

I used to have a 16mm print of B.S. I LOVE YOU, but it was an edited for tv version, so it didn't have the sex scene. So I saw someone selling a video on Ebay and got this, but it was also the censored tv version!

The music in B.S. is really incredible - I love all those songs and have an old vinyl copy of the soundtrack album!

  • Do you mean the Big Boy soundtrack, Donald?

    The Spoonful?

  • thanks for posting this, Peter. I'm a huge fan of B.S. I LOVE YOU and YOU'RE A BIG BOY NOW! I wish both of these would come out on DVD!! You and Joanna Cameron made a great team!

  • Thanks, Donald. Appreciate the comment.

You can get Big Boy on VHS -- I'm not sure

about B.S. I Love You. Working with Joanna

was . . . challenging. Things between us got fairly tense,

reaching a blow-out just before out big "sex" scene.

    Showbiz!

    Best,

    Peter
