Nokia E72 Optical Navi Key

I compared this with the trackpad on the Blackberry 8250, which in comparison is a dream to use. With one swipe of your thumb you can traverse the entire width of the menu grid, and this makes it actually a quicker way to navigate menus / lists than a traditional 5 way D-pad.
It's a total dealbreaker IMHO.

And that is atrocious, as it means that to go four icons across in a menu you have to flick your thumb three times. I don't know what genius thought that it would be easier to flick than just pressing down on a button three times. The raised edges of the middle button also make it very unpleasant to flick your thumb. They should have just kept the opti key or the regular d-pad. Having both makes the end result quite unpleasant to use.

Ok tried it out myself at a Nokia Priority Dealer - it's awful. The Opti Navi Key works horribly. You have to flick it as it's not that sensitive at all (I did set the sensitivity on high), and it will only move one icon at a time on the menu!
