@signofthehammer Agreed. The lack of solos arguement is weak at best, some of the best music in the world has no guitar solos and the trend they speak of lies within nu-metal, which st. anger is NOT. Obviously these people have never heard of COC and others in that genere. The riffs in My World and All Within My Hands are clearly not Linkin Park and Korn based.

Its missing the crunch, sounds too clean. People dont understand what Rick Rubin was trying to do, was making it sound like it was teeetering on the edge. There is nothing wrong with the way it sounds, fuck, ride the lightning sounds like it was rcorded in a bathroom but noone seems to care about that!

I prefer the quality on the album :L

@ApplesNCrapholes right. be content with mediocrity. excellent motto for living.

The levels was already peaking after the mixing, the mastering studio didn't have anything to do with it.
It's how Rick Rubin makes albums, listen to any of his later albums and they peak.

@bobjackson85 Panning guitars hard left and right is used quite bit when recording. Overdubs can be panned a little closer to center to separate them, but I think this sounds pretty cool for a remix project. I like the way the regular album sounds. Brick wall compression that gets added during mastering kills dynamics and pushes everything up front, but for this album, i think it works most of the time.

listen closely and you can hear the bassline, especially in the beginning. How can you miss it? It's bad a--. It drops....so bad a--
I fuckin hate people like this, Metallica makes their best music since Justice/Black Album and they bitch about the quality. Be happy they actually made a great album.
