Fade to Black (Acoustic, Cover, with Solo) - Metallica

Here's my cover of Fade to Black by Metallica with both solos.

There's certainly some limitations to doing it acoustically. For one, doing power chords on the heavy parts makes it sound like your chopping away at your guitar.


There's a few mess-ups here and there, but overall it works

The final solo starts to go to shit at the end because of:
1.) The action is set too high on my guitar, so whirling through those triplets is a pain
2.) My guitar only has 20 frets, so those extra high notes don't happen
3.) I haven't mastered that last solo on an electric guitar yet, so the acoustic version is going to be even more rough around the edges. This is why I take the easy way out on some of the parts. Sorry.

Great performance, out of curiosity did you slow it down so it is easier to do the solo at 0:36?

@Drew0722 Both tracks were done in a single take. I was probably overcompensating for that bit at 0:36 because it used to give me trouble. Now that I have a new Taylor Acoustic, I might record a new audio version and throw it up on the Facebook page. Cheers!
