The Peninsula Ecosystem and Health Foundation, conducting a community building activity with Aeta schoolchildren in Mariveles, Philippines.

There is an existing school within the community and there are about 50 students in all. Two classrooms hold students from grades one up to grade six.

We occasionally conduct medical missions and provide medicine for the community.
We also often come with donations-clothes, school supplies, etc and in part this activity was a way of creating an incentive for participation.

Our foundation is looking at introducing ecohealth approaches to health in the Philippines... it is an environmental approach to health using a method of transdisciplinarity.

  • SO CUTE!!! no offense but the lady teaching the kids sounded kind of retarded, a two year old could say what she came up with

  • @everyoneisjealousof lol YOU are retarded, most of these children are at a preschool level and we have to explain to them in the simplest way we can.

  • Re-education. Not conditioning that the white man brought 2 us.Lucky my family are not lost and still hold on to their tribal roots. The Tinguians and Aetas are becoming very few. We still dance arround the fire, share food and live off the land. Whats better than choosing when to eat sleep and work. We just need to be LEFT ALONE!!!

PEOPLE ARE SAYING TO TEACH THEM ABOUT AFRICA. WHY?

    WHEN PHILIPPINES IS THEIR HOME!

If they taught us all what they know we would all be very enlightened indeed.

  • "If they taught us all what they know we would all be very enlightened indeed."

    EXACTLY. Very true. Thank you!

  • The blind guides the blind. How they will walk?

  • @Pro2zoa you are so incompetent it's funny.

  • And it is HILARIOUS how you completely misunderstood the lesson we were trying to teach them, we are there with these people to ENCOURAGE them to go back to THEIR roots. NOT to go to the doctor every time they are sick, but to make use of their traditional methods of healing.

You don't even know what "ECO" means haha you should really sit down and listen to this children's lesson or at least look up the word you might learn a thing or two about grammar, too.

  • @D1adriano i disagree partially you do need to know about your african roots you would have not been in the philipines without the slave trade

  • @D1adriano they do not want to be left alone. if they did why the hell do they come down the mountain to find work. wouldn't they be staying up in the mountain and just live there. it only goes to show that they want to learn and work and live a normal life where they can eat a daily meal.

  • they are talking about ecosystem so they can learn to protect themselves from malaria which is the 1number killer in areas like these.

  • From what I heared everyone started off from africa. We were once black. If you were white now, 500,000 or more years before your family was black.
