Enemy territory Quake wars running natively inside Ubuntu Linux. Showing some online gameplay off, This is a must get for any Linux gamers as it is a fantastic retail game and very cheap at the moment!

  • @Pilotgeek yeah most of the time it's no problem, but since most software you'll run on linux is open source it is pretty unlikely to get backdoors installed etc., since everybody can look at the code so that's a big plus too,

Most people won't even notice if they accidentally installed a backdoor or a rootkit, so they don't even know if they've got malware installed

  • @Pilotgeek I just save my Windows partition for games that i really want to play that don't work, it never gets a virus because i don't browse the internet, seems browsing even normal websites can get you a virus nowadays!

  • @Julien1345 The way Linux is made also contributes to its security. It's naturally much harder for a virus to run even if it gets into a Linux System. In fact, I that sort of setup duplicated in Windows. I only run in Windows as a standard user, and disable program execution outside of white listed areas. I have never had a virus on my Win7 machine.

  • @Dakkiller1 This is a native game to Linux, so because its running native and we don't need anti virus software and what not the games will most likely have a slight improvement with framerate in Linux :)

  • @Sb0yce Don't worry, Last time I played ETQW its framerate seemed the same as the windows version, Maybe even faster then the Windows version.

  • It's really a good thing that most games do not run on Linux, because otherwise a lot of people would change to Linux (especially now where many people know it through android) and as a consequence there would be way more malware for Linux. If you still want to game just save some place for a windows partition which you can choose at boot up.

  • @Sb0yce Yeah i think thats one of the huuuuuuuuuge reasons stopping users switching, but they lag you see in my videos is due to shitty hardware (getting new hardware tomorrow woo) and a lot of games differ really, some actually do run better on Linux i think

  • @Itsmarcosbro I lol'd
