Cadbury is using the companys downtown Toronto mobile media network to promote its Bicycle Factory (www.theBicycleFactory.ca) campaign to help buy 5,000 bicycles for people in Ghana, Africa.

The campaign, managed by Cossette, includes a 12-second Bluetooth broadcast message available for download by mobile phone users at 25 Broadburst mobile broadcast sites in downtown Toronto. The campaign also features national ads on Global Television, as well as several specialty channels including MuchMusic, Teletoon, Showcase and TVA and TQS in Quebec, and print runs in the Metro daily newspapers. The Bicycle Factory(TM) promotion involves Canadian consumers by inviting them to participate online to help build bikes; by visiting the virtual bicycle-making factory, consumers may enter a Cadbury UPC code, each of which is equal to one bicycle part. For every 100 UPC codes entered by consumers, Cadbury will build one bicycle. The goal is to build up to 5,000 bicycles which will be delivered to Ghana by a team of Cadbury employees in October 2009.

Cadbury is working closely with international associations and local Cadbury partners on the ground in Africa to ensure effective distribution of the bicycles. In 2009, up to 5,000 bicycles will be sent to communities in Ghana, Africa where they will be used to help children get to school and therefore greatly improve access to education. Ghana is a member community of the Cadbury Cocoa Partnership, a ground breaking initiative developed to secure the economic, social and environmental sustainability of almost a million cocoa farmers and their communities.
