The founder of the Inventor's Assistance League (IAL), Ted De Boer, tells about his organization that he started in the early 60's. IAL teaches inventors a technique known as "pre-patent protection" that allows an inventor to discuss his/her ideas with the market under controlled conditions to determine if the idea has commercial/market value. In the past when Ive came up with ideas Ive detailed it on paper made several copies and sent them to myself and to my parents in the mail so they would be post dated, where they remain unopened in case I need to prove the provenance in the future.

I thought I replied to this already, but don't see it here... Sending yourself mail is NOT legal protection. There is much more to it. Please request our free intro pak and it actually gives you some meat and potatoes as to what works and what doesn't and how you can save money by not running out and getting a patent first.

Great! In that case, you need to learn how to protect your idea and how to take it to the market where it will float or sink on its own. That's what we teach.

cool!!! yeah i like this, i was wondering would ideas outside of America do? i believe there is some sort of jurisdiction for international copyrights /patents or sumthing along the line, plz correct me if i'm wrong, I am new to this. I'll be reading more for my country.
