This video contains photos and videos we took of The Pamplemousse today at Santa Anita park. I apologize for the bad video quality (it was taken using my camera.)
We saw Mr. "French for Grapefruit" (or, maybe shall we say that restaurant in Del Mar???) win the Sham Stakes, crushing the field hand-ridden and without even really trying. This horse is awesome. He is the real deal and I hope he stays that way for the 2009 Kentucky Derby!!! It was great seeing Julio Canani, Alex Solis, his son, and others who have brought this horse into the spotlight and in winning form! All I can say is -- WOW.

He's so big, and has so much speed to open up with at the far turn it makes him very impressive. I usually don't like front runners at all, but he's my exception, along with RA.

He is so gorgeous and talented I can't wait for the Santa Anita and the Derby. The mousse is the goose!!!!

I sense something "special" about this horse. His demeanor is unbelievable...SO SMART...he should hold up well under the pressure he may be facing. And judging by the weight he's carrying, he's not even close to being at peak fitness level...GO PAMPLEMOUSSE!!!

Yeah! I feel so fortunate to live close to Santa Anita, so I can see these wonderful horses like The Pamplemousse and Stardom Bound!!! I am so thankful. But I am sure it is nothing like living in Kentucky near all those stud farms! LOL :-)
