I did my best to get this thing to play as well as it can. Good guitar for a learner. A real guitar player would smash it.
The bridge is belly up and the neck needs to be reset. On a $300 guitar NOT an option !!! I don't even think you can get the neck off one of these things.

  • I don't think that people would like to hear that you are recording while repairing...

  • @safeandsoundhg

they don't own my thoughts and opinions

    wtf?

  • Hi Davey,

Have this old 60's somthing bird..The top appears to be warping upward in the low E area of the bridge.. Do you have any suggestions or a video on how properly to deal with this problem..

    Thanks, Dave..

  • @luvkountry

    old wood gets twisted

tuff to say without seeing the actual guitar

  • Had an Artwood AW-25 12 String in for repair that was crunched real good and previously repaired with wood screws!!!! Broken headstock, cracked heel... the works! I had to remove the neck and it comes off much like a real guitar where the tongue is separated, the fret removed and steam injected into the seam but the neck pulls straight off instead of vertically as with a dovetail. There's 5 dowel pins holding the neck onto the body. Not too difficult once you know that's the way it goes.

  • @mudsharkable

I heard they are using epoxy on these cheaper dowel pin necks :(

a real bitch to pull apart

  • hi Dave

what do you think about the Mexican fender are ok for gigs

and how often should i get a set up thanks

  • thanks very informative video

  • @safeandsoundhg I would feel honored to have Davey record comments on my guitar.

  • Cheaper Yamaha acoustics are shipped with the truss rod loose, They've engineered the neck so the "pull" created by light gauge strings makes it "just about right" without it ; ) I buy and sell vintage Yamaha FG acoustics and set em up with medium gauge Martin strings. Hehe ; )

  • Hey, I have a 1968 Gibson and down at the very bottom the bottom part of the guuitar goes "in" and the top part hangs off a little, and the brigde is kinda messed up, the guitar is still playable but since it is a gibson, i want it to be in better condition, what should I do?

  • @davey4557

Not sure how to provide you with a few photos to give you a better idea of the problem. I'm a few miles away from your area so I wouldn't be able to take it in so you could see

    it..in reality..

    Thanks Dave
