  • Love this video Bob it has helped me a lot allways looking back on it , refering to it.

Telling my friends about it love it so much I have put it in my gallery so that more and more people know about you. Best regards George in the UK

  • After making 250 bottle stopper i am shure if you drill a 5/16" diameter hole and use the Beall method of tapping the hole you will not have any troubles.

You place the live center into the back of the tap and turn the tap w/ a wrench then advance the tail stock until it feels firm the repeat the process till the tap has bottomed out, now you are ready to mount the wood part onto the mandrel.

  • Great video made a few stoppers myself turned out realy well since watching your videos many thanks George Whitby in the UK

  • Good idea to use CA glue to reinforce the fibers prior to threading.

To dry the glue you can turn the lathe on and let centrifugal force send it deep into the wood. Just make sure it isn't leaking out of the end and stand off to the side.
