@pummarit Sorry, HM is the usual abbreviation in Thailand's English language press for "His Majesty".
Sorry also for a couple of vulgar Thai language comments that slipped through a few weeks ago without notice to the author. All cleaned up now and commenters banished.

His Majesty has had nothing to do with the existence of lese majeste laws, in actual fact he has said that he dislikes them. It is in fact the Thai people who insist on maintaining these laws, as any party which attempted to remove them would quickly be defeated at the polls, and they know it.
Eventually these laws will fall away, but the Thais are too protective toward HM to allow that to happen yet. Simple truth.
