Waterford Crystal

At the start of February 2010, the world famous Waterford Crystal factory will be closed forever. The site will be sold and the factory will be demolished!! It will indeed be a dark day for Waterford City and Ireland.

I took my camcorder over to Waterford Crystal and filmed some of their amazing work in their showroom. Here is a glimpse at the amazing skills and craftmanship that has been lost...

Hi NatterV2. Yeah, I know, but it won't be the same. The Waterford Crystal factory is such a landmark for our city that to think they're going to demolish it... Might as well ask Paris to demolish the Eiffle Tower. And the fact the franchise was sold, Waterford Crystal made in Germany, USA, etc... Boo!!!

Sadly it is true. The Waterford Crystal factory has been a huge part of this city for decades. It's very sad to see it go, I still can't believe it!!
