@olithos There are as well various scenes from "Death of Robot John" in this vid, a russian Sci-Fi movie from the early 60ies, when Gagarin was heading towards black space.

No, these are images from different american sci-fi movies (presumably low-budget stuff). This video was done some time back now, so I don't remember which films were used, but they were all taken from the same collection of low budget sci-fi films. The original films are quite hilarious as well.

How much of it is a real footage and how much is CGI?

It's heavily processed DV material, composited on original footage presumably shot entirely on film.
