yes antler abnormality can come from a skull fracture but it if you notice from the video that is not what the deer has. when a deers skull has a fracture it's whole face swells up. this deer likely had damage to his pedicle which can be caused from a number of things like a broken antler sometime in his life. it doesn't mean his skull is fractured.
all deer are a danger to vehicles, doesn't mean we shoot every deer we see.
at least we can agree that it is in bad taste

The "Messed Up Antler" comes either from a skull fracture at the base of the antler, a serious traumatic injury on the off side, or a serious genetic issue.
One of the three. Look it up. White tail Biology is pretty well defined. Any of those three are sufficient reason to cull - even if it were tame.
As it is, injured, lame or tame, it posed a danger to vehicular traffic.
It needed to be culled.
As for posting the video? I agree. Bad Taste. But then, that's what YouTube is about.

Deer seemed perfectly healthy to me. That was either a tame deer or one that had been isolated in a manner that it didn't learn to fear humans by the example of other deer reacting to the scent or sight of us.
That deer was not a genetic threat to the herd. It was a young deer that may have well sported a full set of antlers next year.
For as little sport as was in that harvest, it was even less sporting to post the video for the entire world to see. Don't count yourselves as hunters!

as you previously said "How can any of you rubberheads really believe that deer didn't need to be culled. He walked up to the fuckin truck for crying out loud. I wouldn't want him breeding any of my does"
walking up to a truck isn't a genetic flaw. like i said, why would anyone post this here, it gives all of us hunters a bad name!!
-
Sick my ass....the deer had to be tame, just because it had one good set of antlers and walked up to a truck doesn't mean it was sick you dipshit. Plus if your gonna kill a deer like this why post a video of it on youtube then brag about it, saying "that's hunting right there"? Keep that shit to yourselves, i dont think any other hunter wants to see some pathetic crap like that. Why don't you post a video of you up in your stand or wherever and calling in a buck and shooting it that way?
-
So you're trying to tell me that this buck doesn't have an obvious genetic flaw?
-
How can any of you rubberheads really believe that deer didn't need to be culled. He walked up to the fuckin truck for crying out loud. I wouldn't want him breeding any of my does!! You idiots are the ones that give hunters a bad name. doushbags

If y'all have any more deer like that around can i borree them to train my puppies on. We could fence in ten or twelve acres and SKIIIIIt tew it. bucks only though guys
The deer seems to be looking through them and the vehicle! I swear that buck seems to be just going on instinct. look at how it picks up his legs as it walks, like he's stepping over something and then gets tangled up in some small vines. Brain damage for sure. Culling that deer was a blessing to it! Those guys weren't bragging they were just in awe of the way it happened. I bet you would rather see it get eaten buy a coyote.

so if a deer walks up to a truck it means he needs to be culled??? that has to be some sort of new managment practice. normal people cull deer based on age and genetic flaws. if you didn't like the horns, fine shoot the deer, it's your land afterall. but to put a video on you tube showing you killing a deer that appears to be tame!!!!!!! that's just shows that they did it because they could. I'M NOT IMPRESSED and i don't think there are many folks here that are
