Heart Talk | ORIGINAL POEM

I often write while 'on the move' in some way...this poem was written a little while ago, while driving...the lines just came to me as I travelled...Enjoy :)

HEART TALK

Our voices are silent, strangled
As our lives have become estranged
But in the stillness and quiet moments, it seems
Your heart still knows my heart's name

I'll be driving along, calm and at peace
When suddenly I get this feeling of inner unease
The same happens when I'm out, enjoying a walk
And now I come to realise that, although we are silent
Our hearts still talk

I didn't think it possible
I honestly didn't know
That amidst the wreckage of that ending
Somehow those two hearts would still glow

Although everything has been done
To well and truly move on
And other hearts knock at my door
There's a clear conversation going on
It seems can't be stopped
Between my heart and yours

I raise my eyes to the sky
I see the sun breaking through
I pray for peace
For me and for you

The error you made
Left our hearts restless and entwined
It seems they won't follow the decision
You made in your mind

They don't feel that same fear
That you allowed to win
They have things that need to be said
And they won't give in

In the quiet moments
By day and by night
I hear our hearts talking
Trying to say 'goodbye'
