Yeah and you certainly don't propose after breaking up her sister and your best friend... The point of this proposal in the story was that he was filled with pride and that really pissed her off; Mr. Darcy needed to change. BUT, what makes it romantic was the raw emotion they expressed and how passionate he was in his proposal. It is the underlying feeling that mattered the most.

Maybe everyone imagines their own version of Elizabeth/Darcy... (actually everyone imagines their own version of every book they read)
And i know their are many many people who love the 1995 version.. But just the way when both of them are speaking here... The flow of emotions not just in them but in me... It keeps u on the edge of the seat and just as the scene is ending u find urself going like "Come back Darcy! Where the HELL are u going??"
And just the way he says "I love u. Most ardently"
