Why didn't you hover out of its range and attack it? Also you were up really high, which is pretty much SAM country from what I understand. I'm not really one to talk though, I found this while trying to find something on how not to get shot down by them.

well I actually tried to evade those missiles but I made a mistake as you can see: I didn't dispense flares from both sides of the chopper

But I also didn't get why you didn't just attack with your missiles from a safe range...
